Hualpai Hilltop, the trail head where Seth gives us some last minute instructions. Mainly, drink lots of water. It's early yet, but the temperature is rising. Soon to approach 100 at the rim and rising as we make our way down the canyon.

The first mile of the trail definitely the toughest part with a 1,110 ft decent through switchbacks. We start to have second thoughts about hiking out in this heat.

Nearing the end of our steep decent with an excellent view down the canyon. Mt. Sinyella in the distance marks our destination the Supai Village. Notice the helicopter near the top of the frame. There are no roads to Supai Village, all supplies are taken in by foot, horse back or helicopter.

First Water at the junction of Hualpai and Havasu (Cataract) Canyon. At this point the heat has gotten the better of us as we immerse ourselves in the cool water. A helicopter ride out is starting to look mighty good. Havasu creek springs from the canyon floor a short distance from here up Cataract Canyon.
